“A Line to the Sea”

The Ship & The Swell - A Line to the Sea (2019)
Music Composed & Performed by The Ship & The Swell
Lyrics by Alex Gregor

Lyrics

Walked out of my home & I followed the trail,
Lodestone in my belly, cold milk from the well.
Breadcrumbs in the dirt, apple seeds in my pale,
Wine in my pocket, it's good for what ails you.

Looked up at the sky & I was met by the trees,
Cold air in my lungs, barefoot in the leaves.
Took the map from my pocket, and traced the line to the sea.
Tipped back the bottle & drank to the lees.

Woke up on the beach & I looked out to sea,
Stood up in the sand & I walked to the reed.
Built up a raft from the trunk of a tree,
Climbed up aboard & I sailed to the east.

“Freight Train”

The Ship & The Swell - Freight Train (2019)
Music Composed & Performed by The Ship & The Swell
Lyrics by Alex Gregor
Video by Andrea Bancone
Audio Post Production by Federico Flaviano

Lyrics

I ride the train
I heard the whistle howl loudly in the night
So I followed the call to the station's light
The tracks rumbled beneath a moonless sky
I climbed aboard when the engine rolled on by

I ride the train

I drank from the fountain flowin with red wine
I danced to the band playin out of time
I ate from the feast out before our eyes
While the train barreled swiftly down the line.
